Introductory level Teacher Training Program/1st year

Part 1: 1-year intensive self-practise course
This part of the training is open to all who are interested.
Training as a yoga teacher requires a strong and stable self-practise as its basis. Therefore the focus of Part 1 is solely to intensify your own practise of asanas and pranayama. For those who wish to continue and become a  certified teacher of IYENGAR® yoga, this course provides the essential foundation. Alternatively, it can function as a stand-alone course for those who wish purely to advance their own level of yoga practise.

In yoga, we do not differentiate between between body and mind – body and mind are one:

"The body is part of the mind and the mind is part of the body. They are interconnected, interwoven. The eight aspects of yoga are contained in one posture, in one breath."
B.K.S. Iyengar.

Immersion: Through the intensive practise of asanas and pranayama, you will improve your technique, and gradually expand your mental and emotional stability. You will experience your body in new ways that will change your perception of reality. The dynamic and intense work with your body will not increase strength and flexibility – it will also make you more energetic, relaxed and aware:

"Self-correction comes with perception"
B.K.S. Iyengar.

Note that you are welcome to begin this training course even if you do not yet have 3-year’s experience with IYENGAR® yoga. You should however be aware that you must have practised IYENGAR® yoga for at least 4 years before you can take your first exam – Introductory level I.
At least 6 years practise is required for Introductory level II.

This course runs over 10 Fridays (4.30pm – 7 pm) and following Saturdays (10am – 3pm), with training in asanas, pranayama and philosophy. The price is 10.000 kr., excluding materials, which is to be paid i three installments.
